Arsenal ace Charles Sagoe Jr looks set to leave the club this month.
Arsenal want to hand Charles Sagoe Jr the opportunity to gain more first team experience.
Mikel Arteta handed the 19-year-old winger his senior debut earlier this season, as the Hale End academy gem was named in the starting XI for the Gunners’ EFL Cup clash against Brentford.
Sagoe Jr enjoyed his debut, as Arsenal earned a win against the Bees, and club captain Martin Odegaard ensured that he received an ovation from the club’s travelling fans.
Now, as reported by Arsenal youth journalist Jeorge Bird, the Gunners have opted to let the youngster leave on loan, with Sagoe Jr now “close” to a temporary departure in what remains of the current January transfer window.
It has not yet been revealed which club the teenager will join, or what level the Gunners intend for him to play at. It is important that Sagoe Jr is sent to a club where he stands a strong chance of getting regular game time.
If he is able to impress whilst on loan, Sagoe Jr will hope to earn more first team minutes for Arsenal next season. There is certainly an appetite amongst the Emirates Stadium faithful to see Arteta hand more opportunities to the club’s most promising youth academy prospects.

What to expect from Arsenal in market beyond Charles Sagoe Jr exit
In terms of Arsenal business in this January transfer windows Sagoe Jr departure may just prove to be about as exciting as it gets between now and the deadline. Journalist David Ornstein is not optimistic that the Gunners will get any other deals over the line. However, the club are also working to move on both Cedric Soares and Mohamed Elneny on a permanent basis.
However, it does seem that Arteta will seek to strengthen his defensive contingent this month if an affordable opportunity to do so presents itself. Arsenal have been linked with a move for Roma left-back Leonardo Spinazzola, who is thought to now be available for a cut-price fee due to his current contract situation with the Italian capital club.
As for Sagoe Jr, if his loan exit is confirmed in the coming days, he will be seeking to make the most of his opportunity to play regularly at senior level. The fact that he has already been handed his Arsenal debut suggests that he is ready to take that step in his career.
