West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal in 2024.

The 23-year-old Englishman has barely played since the start of last season. Injuries have played a big part in that, and he is now suddenly of interest to clubs like Aston Villa and Newcastle United. Now, West Ham want him too.

West Ham United want to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal

Emile Smith Rowe joined Arsenal’s academy when he was just 10 years old.

The midfielder came through the ranks at Hale End and made himself a key player in the first team a few years ago. He was even given the number 10 shirt, which shows just how highly the club rates him.

However, a groin injury that required surgery made Smith Rowe miss a large chunk of last season, and he just hasn’t been able to get back into the Arsenal side as a regular.

A number of clubs are queueing up to sign the 23-year-old in one of the next two transfer windows, and TeamTalk claim West Ham United are now really keen.

However, the report claims Arsenal have told the Irons that any deal for Smith Rowe will cost the same amount of money that Manchester United paid for Mason Mount in the summer – around £60 million.

Smith Rowe’s current Arsenal contract does not expire until the summer of 2026.

The Gunners should not sell him

Emile Smith Rowe is a ‘special‘ talent.

The 23-year-old has not played a lot of football over the last 18 months, but the quality he has is incredible. He has looked amazing every time he has come off the bench this season, and he really does deserve to start soon.

A £60 million fee definitely looks tempting for a player who cost us nothing, but if we can give more opportunities to Smith Rowe and get the best out of him, we feel he’ll be worth a hell of a lot more than that figure.

Arsenal shouldn’t even consider selling Smith Rowe anytime soon.
