Arsenal continue to be linked with Napoli star Victor Osimhen, and may fancy themselves as likely suitors for the in-demand striker.
Arsenal look set to invest in a centre-forward in the summer window, and Osimhen has been targeted as someone who can raise the level of Mikel Arteta’s side in the opposition box.
Gabriel Jesus has been a strong overall performer in terms of creativity and build-up play, but his weakness in front of goal has led to calls for a more clinical striker to come in.
Osimhen led Napoli to their first Serie A title since the days of Diego Maradona, with an astonishing 26 goals in 32 league games, and is being targeted by clubs across Europe.
Arsenal on the right track to sign Victor Osimhen
Osimhen recently stated his desire to move to a bigger club in the summer transfer window, and this has put the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid on red alert.
The 25-year-old has a £112m release clause in his contract, and this may mean Chelsea have more of a chance of signing him than Arsenal do, but the Gunners are still a key contender for his signature.
Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri has now claimed that Arsenal are the team “ticking all the boxes” when it comes to signing Osimhen, as they need a pure number nine like the Nigerian, and could afford a huge deal in the summer.
Arsenal’s willingness to break the bank for key targets

Although Arsenal have not spent as heavily as Chelsea at times, they have not been afraid to break the bank for players Arteta truly desires in his team.
The pursuit of Declan Rice this summer showed that when Arteta is dead-set on signing a target, the club is willing to back him rather than finding an alternative in some cases.
If the Spaniard believes Osimhen is the perfect forward for his side, and Arsenal have the means to activate his release clause, they will be competitive in the race to sign him.
Given that Arsenal are far more likely to qualify for the Champions League and challenge for the title than Chelsea, whilst also having a more settled team, the Emirates is the more attractive destination at the moment, and if it comes down to a straight choice between the two, Arsenal will hope this is enough to entice the 27-cap Nigeria star into a move.
