Miguel Azeez is now seeking an alternative move away from Arsenal this summer after seeing his potential free transfer to Barcelona collapse after talks reached a standstill.
That is according to Sport, which reports that Azeez was negotiating a transfer to Barcelona until recent days. The Camp Nou outfit were eager to take the 20-year-old to Catalunya this summer to initially strengthen their B-team. But the possible deal has now ground to a halt.
Blaugrana Atletic boss Rafa Marquez has asked Barcelona to prioritise other positions in his side before reinforcing the midfield. Even though Azeez can dissociate himself from Arsenal for free this summer, despite his contract at Emirates Stadium having another season to run.

Pre-season, though, has convinced Marquez that Barcelona must sign new youth prospects who are not midfielders at first. His priorities have shifted to their defence and, potentially, their attack before their engine room. So, Azeez has gone back to square one in the market.
Azeez is still looking to leave Arsenal this summer and is now exploring what alternatives, if any, are available. He spent the 2022/23 campaign away from the Gunners after signing for UD Ibiza and Wigan Athletic on loan. He also spent the first half of 2021/22 at Portsmouth.

It has been a tough few years for the once-promising Arsenal academy prospect. His stint at Portsmouth may have seen Danny Cowley call Azeez ‘outstanding’. But the Gunners axed his loan after growing increasingly frustrated with a lack of game time having only played in 10.
