Catch all the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours, with updates on Sverre Nypan, Martin Zubimendi and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
The final week of the January transfer window is here and Arsenal face a race against time to get their final deals over the line.
It has been a subdued period for the Gunners so far, with just a handful of exits and no incoming players to mention.
There is an expectation that Arsenal could pull off a big deal before the window closes in the forward areas though, while some exits could be on the cards too.
So with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
David Ornstein gives Sverre Nypan transfer update
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Norwegian wonderkid Sverre Nypan in the January transfer window.
The midfielder could be set to leave Rosenborg, with the club currently set for pre-season training ahead of the start of a new campaign.
Nypan has been hailed as a talent for the future who could make an immediate impact too, with Arsenal firmly on the trail.
Giving an update on the deal, David Ornstein said on NBC: “They’re working on a deal to sign Sverre Nypan, a really highly rated Norwegian midfielder, 18 years old, from Rosenborg.
“They’re advancing in talks with his representatives and club to club, nothing has been agreed. There’s no decision made on his future. Others are interested in him, such as Girona in Spain, not Manchester City.”
It suggests a deal could well advance in the final week of the transfer window.
Martin Zubimendi makes major transfer decision
Arsenal appear to be closing in on a move to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, with a deal lined up for the summer transfer window.
The Spaniard has been rumoured with moves to Liverpool and Manchester City, but it seems as though the Gunners are set to pip both by activating his release clause and agreeing terms in the months ahead.

While a move didn’t seem feasible in January due to finances, Football Insider claims that it could’ve been different.
The report states that Arsenal wanted a move completed this month, but the star rejected the opportunity to focus on a summer switch.
Myles Lewis-Skelly set for new contract
Arsenal Insider understands that Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly is set to sign a new contract at the club in the weeks ahead.

The Hale End academy star has become a first-team regular in a breakthrough campaign so far, with some impressive performance levels.
The Gunners seem set to reward Lewis-Skelly with a brand new contract to reflect his change in status at the club.
