Catch all the latest Arsenal news and rumours, including updates on Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, Hugo Ekitike, Martin Zubimendi and Jorrel Hato.
Andrea Berta is starting to accelerate talks with a number of different clubs over several different players as he plans to assemble Mikel Arteta’s squad in time for pre-season.
Arsenal go on a tour of Asia in mid-July, and the Gunners could do with having the bulk of their summer business done by then.
While deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga and Martin Zubimendi are close, stumbling blocks are emerging in their pursuit of forwards.
So with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Arsenal could turn to Hugo Ekitike in pursuit of striker
Arsenal are growing increasingly frustrated by the situation surrounding Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.
The Gunners have held talks with RB Leipzig over Sesko, but the German club remain staunch on their £67 million asking price, with Berta hoping an agreement would instead be reached at £60 million.
Meanwhile, Arsenal aren’t willing to meet Sporting CP’s £67 million price tag for Gyokeres, as they believe this fee is excessive for a player of his age and limited experience at the top level.

Thus, Berta may divert his attention to the North Londoners ‘Plan C’ option, Hugo Ekitike.

Real Madrid are eyeing alternatives to Martin Zubimendi
Martin Zubimendi is expected to sign for Arsenal in early July, despite rumours circulating last week that Real Madrid are attempting to hijack the deal.
Reports had emerged that Xabi Alonso wants Zubimendi at the Bernabeu, and even called the player to try and convince him to ditch his move to the Emirates.
However, these reports have been downplayed by reputable sources, and Real Madrid now appear to be resigned to the fact that they’re going to miss out on the Real Sociedad man.

According to AS, Los Blancos are now eyeing alternatives to Zubimendi.

Arsenal want to sign Jorrel Hato this summer
Arsenal are in the market for a defender this summer, despite suggestions that they should be prioritising other positions.
Berta is supportive of Arteta’s desire to bolster their backline, and the Italian is also keen on acquiring Jorrel Hato.
The Ajax defender enjoyed an impressive season in the Eredivisie last term, and could be viewed as a potential long-term successor to Gabriel Magalhaes in N5.

However, Arsenal will face significant competition from Chelsea and other clubs for the Dutchman’s signature.
