Keep up with the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours today, including updates on Joan Garcia, Benjamin Sesko and Julian Alvarez.
The first transfer deadline has passed, meaning Arsenal will have to wait another five days before the market reopens once again.
While that wait goes on, it means very little for the Gunners and their pursuit of their top targets in the transfer window.
Talks for a striker are ongoing, while forwards who could join them are also being tracked in the background.
So, with that said, here’s a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours ahead of another busy day.
Joan Garcia to Barcelona deal confirmed by Fabrizio Romano
Arsenal transfer target Joan Garcia is set to snub a move to the Emirates Stadium in favour of a switch to Barcelona.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has given the “here we go” to the transfer, which now looks set to be confirmed in the coming days.
Garcia’s release clause, worth €25 million [£21.1 million] is set to be triggered by the Blaugrana as they land the goalkeeper from their local rivals Espanyol.
It means Arsenal must continue their search elsewhere, with Kepa Arrizabalaga currently on their radar.
Benjamin Sesko to Arsenal transfer update
Arsenal’s deal for Benjamin Sesko is still believed to be ongoing, despite reports of interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
Journalist Florian Plettenberg revealed as much to Sky Sports, claiming: “Don’t panic, the deal is still on between RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Arsenal!

“Two clubs from Saudi Arabia have enquired about Sesko in the last few hours, but they have been told that Sesko’s preference is to continue with Arsenal as he is too young to go to Saudi Arabia.
“Arsenal are still working on a verbal agreement, but as long as there is no verbal agreement, other teams do still have a chance.
“But at this stage, the talks are still ongoing between the Gunners and Sesko for a summer transfer.”
Diego Simeone hits out at Arsenal links with Julian Alvarez
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has spoken out on links between Julian Alvarez and a potential move to Arsenal.
The Gunners have been rumoured to have an interest in the Argentinian striker as they look to improve their frontline options.
Speaking to La Nacion about Alvarez’s links, Simeone simply said: “It’s logical, I can’t imagine any other scenario.

Julian is 25 years old, he’s an extraordinary player, with hunger, with enthusiasm, with humility, with work, with goals, with status.
“How could everyone not want him? And Barcelona, PSG, Arsenal, Liverpool… the best have to want him. And for us, Atletico fans, it should be a source of pride that everyone wants him. Why? Because he’s ours.”
