A round-up of the latest Arsenal transfer news as Jakub Kiwior debates the interest in his signature and Mikel Arteta is offered a deal for Newcastle United’s Callum Wilson.

Intermediaries have alerted Arsenal to the potential availability of Wilson in the last week of the mid-season sales. Arteta is in the market for a new forward, with the Gunners scoring 42 goals over their 21 Premier League games this season. Bukayo Saka (6) is their top scorer.

Wilson has scored seven times through his 14 top-flight appearances so far this season with Newcastle. Yet the 31-year-old is second to Alexander Isak (10) at St James’ Park. He has also only started seven times following three spells on the sidelines due to separate injuries.

Arsenal transfer round-up

Intermediaries have informed Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United of the availability of Newcastle United forward Callum Wilson. The Evening Standard reports the Toon could sell the 31-year-old for £18m in January as the Magpies strive to raise funds to avoid FFP issues.

Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has admitted to Super Express that he is ‘glad’ that clubs are showing an interest in his transfer. But the 23-year-old adds that no teams have yet made a bid for his services. He is also focusing on earning a greater role in Arteta’s side this season.

AC Milan are one club targeting Kiwior’s transfer from Arsenal in January, per Calciomercato. The San Siro squad have cooled their interest in Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah to focus on the Poland international. But AC Milan hope Arsenal agree to a loan with a right to buy.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has rejected an approach from Trabzonspor to discuss a transfer to the Super Lig team. Sports Digitale reports the Black Sea Storm identified the 32-year-old as a prime mid-season reinforcement. The Italy ace will also be out of contract this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain ‘frustrated’ Arsenal after activating a £7m clause to re-sign Xavi Simons from PSV Eindhoven in July. Luke Edwards claims that the Gunners were exploring a move, before he then joined RB Leipzig on loan. The Gunners remain interested in a summer move.

Al-Ittihad captain Karim Benzema has slammed the ‘completely false’ reports that the striker has asked to leave on loan, amid interest from Arsenal in a transfer. The 36-year-old has told L’Equipe that he has not demanded a move away from Saudi Arabia, despite all suggestions.

Arsenal intend to let Charlie Patino see out the season on loan to Swansea City and asses his situation again in the summer. But Charles Watts adds that it will take ‘a lot’ for the Gunners to convince the Hale End gem that he has a true pathway into Arteta’s line-up on his return.
