Arsenal’s transfer relationship with London rivals Chelsea has raised plenty of eyebrows from supporters on all sides.

The Gunners have made their fair share of signings from the Blues, with a few players swapping west London for north London in recent years.

Two stars have already made that jump this summer, bringing about plenty of questions from Arsenal fans.

Kepa Arrizabalaga made the £5 million move, switching blue for red in a move to help bolster competition within the goalkeeping ranks.

Arsenal then signed Noni Madueke in a £52 million deal to help improve their forward options for the coming season.

While those two joined from Chelsea, there could have been a third player joining them in making the exact same move.

Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Nicolas Jackson as Man United hold talks for Chelsea star

With Arsenal already making two signings from Chelsea this summer, it turns out they were offered a third star.

That’s according to reputable Arsenal source Hand Of Arsenal, who claims that Nicolas Jackson was offered to the Gunners.

It was in response to a claim that Manchester United have held talks with the striker’s agents over a possible switch.

He simply responded: “Ali Barat offered him to us [Arsenal]. We said no thank you.”

Arsenal have been in the market for a striker, but it’s clear that Jackson isn’t the profile of forward that they want.

Instead, Arsenal are locked in talks to sign Viktor Gyokeres, while they retain interest in the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Ollie Watkins and more.

Fans have often theorised that Arsenal will simply sign players from Chelsea when offered as it’s the easiest option.

Instead, the rejection of Jackson shows that isn’t the case and the Gunners only sign those they think will fit their vision.

Kepa fits their need for a second-choice goalkeeper and does so without breaking the bank, but by adding quality too.

Madueke is capable of playing on both sides, has plenty of room for growth and knows a lot of the Arsenal squad already.

It isn’t simply a strange connection between Arsenal and Chelsea, it’s instead a sign of the Gunners willing to take opportunities available to them.

In this case, the opportunity to sign Jackson doesn’t suit them.
