The January transfer window is still a few months away, but Arsenal are already very clear about the future of one of their players.
The Gunners have built a decent squad, but injuries since the start of the season have led many people to question Mikel Arteta’s squad depth.
When everyone is fit, Arsenal are one of the best teams in the world, and their academy is regularly producing tremendous young talent as well.
That, however, hasn’t stopped clubs from keeping an eye on a few Arsenal players to sign them in January, either on loan or on permanent deals.
Arsenal make Ethan Nwaneri loan decision as clubs circle
Ethan Nwaneri is arguably the most talented young player at Arsenal.
The now-17-year-old broke the Premier League record by becoming the youngest player to make an appearance in the competition – he did that when he was just 15 in 2022.
Nwaneri made his first start for Arsenal against Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night, and he was the star of the show.
He started in the number 10 position and scored twice, once in each half. He has well and truly announced himself on the big stage, and Arsenal have high hopes for him.
However, GiveMeSport have revealed that there are clubs who are eyeing a loan move to sign Nwaneri in the January transfer window.
Sending players that young to gain opportunities elsewhere is not uncommon, but the report claims that Arsenal are now set to ‘issue a hands-off warning’ to any club interested in Nwaneri.
Edu and Arteta have zero interest in sending Nwaneri out on loan. He is in the plans for the rest of this season and will be going nowhere in January.
Three youngsters Arsenal should loan out in January
Arsenal are absolutely right to snub any loan offer for Nwaneri – he deserves to stay and is more than good enough to play a part in the first-team at the Emirates.
Myles Lewis-Skelly is the other youngster Arsenal should not consider loaning out – he has a role to play in this squad as well.
However, there are three academy players we think Arsenal should send out on loan to allow them to gain some experience elsewhere:
- Ayden Heaven
- Josh Nichols
- Maldini Kaccuri
All three of them are huge prospects. Nichols and Kaccuri played against Bolton, while Heaven impressed in Arsenal’s pre-season tour in the summer.
Regular game time at a lower-league club will benefit those three players massively, and we won’t be surprised if there’s interest in them in the January transfer window.
