Arsenal remain in the hunt to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman on Transfer Deadline Day.

Mikel Arteta will still be hoping to make a late addition to his attacking contingent at Arsenal in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

There are several available targets for Arteta to consider in this part of the pitch.

Kingsley Coman has been linked with Arsenal, as it has become clear that the winger is keen to quit Bayern Munich.

The Frenchman has been on the books with the German giants since 2015, having previously plied his trade for PSG and Juventus.

In his time in Germany, the 28-year-old has won eight Bundesliga titles, and one Champions League, amongst numerous other honours. It would seem that Coman is now ready to embrace a new challenge, though, and he is yet to test his mettle in the Premier League.

The Gunners will likely face competition for Coman, though, as Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal are also keen on the 57-cap France international.

However, the attacker’s agent, as quoted by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on X, has now insisted that his client has not agreed a switch to the Gulf state.

His agent said: “It’s NOT true. Kingsley has not accepted any bid at this stage.”

Of course, this also means that the player has not agreed anything with Arsenal either, but it does indicate that there is still time to convince Coman to sign for the North London club, before he commits himself elsewhere.

Should Arsenal sign Kingsley Coman?

Whilst Coman would solve one issue in Arteta’s squad, namely by providing cover and competition for Bukayo Saka – Ian Wright claims this should be Arsenal’s top priority – there are reasons for the club to think twice about striking a deal for his services.

For a start, he would not fit with the age profile that Arsenal tend to target. He offers very little scope to improve further.

On top of that, there are flaws in his game. Coman is far from being prolific in front of goal, and would struggle to come close to matching Saka’s output were he to have to stand in for the Hale End academy graduate for an extended period.

What’s more, he would demand high wages, which his squad role may make difficult to justify.
