Interest in signing one Arsenal loan star this summer is heating up, meaning that Mikel Arteta will soon have a big decision to make.

Arsenal currently have a number of players plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium on a temporary basis.

Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney is currently playing for Spanish side Real Sociedad in La Liga. Tierney has admitted that his time at Arsenal is likely all but over, as Mikel Arteta’s tactical philosophy does not suit his natural game.

Meanwhile, Albert Sambi Lokonga has impressed at Luton Town. The likes of Nuno Tavares, Charlie Patino, Brooke Norton-Cuffy, amongst others, are all also out on loan.

Mika Biereth is one of the Arsenal stars currently enjoying a particularly fruitful loan spell away from north London. The striker spent the first half of the season starring for Motherwell in Scotland, and is currently in prolific form for Austrian outfit Sturm Graz.

Arsenal must make decision on Mika Biereth

The 21-year-old has shown his quality this season. It has even been suggested that there could be a space for Biereth in the Arsenal first-team squad next season.

However, it is also likely that Arteta will seek to cash-in on Biereth whilst his stock is so high. The Denmark under-21 international certainly won’t be short of suitors.

According to The Standard, Sturm Graz are now keen to secure the “stunning” youngster’s services on a permanent basis, but they are set to encounter plenty of competition for his signature. Biereth has certainly succeeded in boosting his profile as a result of his exploits whilst on loan.

What next for Mika Biereth?

Biereth has never made a first-team appearance for Arsenal, and is yet to test himself at anything like Premier League level. Whilst Arteta will be pleased with the progress that the player has made, he will not be getting carried away. Impressing in the Austrian Bundesliga is one thing, making an impact in the top flight of English football is quite another.

What’s more, at 21, Biereth is not the youngest player. His chance to show that he has a long-term future at the Emirates Stadium may well have already passed him by.

It will be fascinating to see what course of action the Spanish coach takes when it comes to determining the forward’s future this summer.

At this stage, all Biereth can do is carry on impressing for Sturm Graz.
