Arsenal are in the market for a versatile attacker this summer, and they could turn to a player who has been outstanding at Euro 2024.
Mikel Arteta has his eye on several players at the tournament, and some from his home nation Spain have really impressed.
Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams, who has been sensational alongside Lamine Yamal at the tournament, but it appears that Williams wants to remain in Spain and join Barcelona.
This could see Ferran Torres move, and the Barcelona attacker has been offered to Arsenal. However, one of Spain’s key players could be available in the coming days, as Dani Olmo has a release clause which is set to expire.
Arsenal target Dani Olmo has release clause available until July 15
Olmo helped Spain reach the final of Euro 2024 with some outstanding displays, scoring in all three knockout rounds, which included a stunner against France in the semi.
The 26-year-old has impressed at several tournaments for Spain, and now expects to leave RB Leipzig. With a release clause of around £52m, he could be cheaper than several other Arsenal attacking targets.
Olmo can play on both wings and in midfield, and brings a goal threat and technical quality which could improve this Arsenal side.
The Spaniard was linked with Arsenal back in October, with Arteta a long-term admirer, but he does not have long if he is to try and sign him this summer. Olmo’s release clause expires on July 15th, the day after the Euro final, and his price tag would surely rise significantly given his outstanding Spain displays.
The pros and cons of Arsenal signing Euro 2024 star Dani Olmo

Olmo would bring speed, goal threat and versatility to Arsenal’s squad, and he could even be a midfield option, having started alongside Rodri and Fabian Ruiz in the trio for Spain.
The attacker can also play on both wings, helping provide quality in attacking areas, and his goal threat from midfield would be beneficial to Arteta.
However, one key problem with Olmo is his injury record. He made just 21 Bundesliga appearances last season as a result of this, and he has been plagued with several frustrating injuries over the last two years.
With Gabriel Jesus also suffering from continual problems, the last thing Arsenal need is another unreliable player when it comes to fitness, and this may be too much of a red flag for Arteta ahead of the expiry of Olmo’s release clause.
