Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko is a move to keep an eye on heading into the summer transfer window.

The striker has featured high up on the list at the Emirates Stadium, with his ability in front of goal and potential to grow even further coming as an attractive proposition.

Arsenal tried to sign Sesko last summer, however a new contract was signed with RB Leipzig which effectively ruled out a deal.

Reports since have stated that a potential informal agreement was in place that would allow the 21-year-old to leave at the right price.

Information since has suggested that Benjamin Sekso now has a release clause fixed into his deal, which could give Arsenal a guaranteed price to land him.

Arsenal transfer target Benjamin Sesko has a release clause

As Arsenal prepare their plans for the summer transfer window, a striker is going to be high up on the list of priorities.

It will be a big task to get right, with plenty of talk surrounding the clinical options that are missing for the Gunners.

As Arsenal appear to close in on Andrea Berta as the next sporting director, attention will soon shift to who he can sign.

Sesko is among the candidates who will be assessed, with a new development throwing a twist into the saga.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Sesko has a fixed release clause in his contract until 2029 which can be activated this summer.

The fee is claimed to be around the €70million (£57.7million) mark, but could increase to €90million (£66million) depending on performance factors.

Arsenal are claimed to be in the mix, but so too are their Premier League rivals as the hunt for the next big striker continues.

Benjamin Sesko release clause a blessing and curse for Arsenal

For Arsenal, the announcement of a release clause for Sesko could be viewed in one of two ways heading into the summer.

On the one hand, it’s a blessing that the side could do plenty of groundwork to get the player to agree before triggering the clause and getting the deal done without much interference from the player’s club.

On the other, there is an issue in that it’s a deal open to other parties too, which could see the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United pip them to a deal.

With Arsenal seen as a good option for many young players, especially with a league title up for grabs, it could be enough to sway Sesko.

However, it’s now a deal out in the open for all to try their hand at.
