Galatasaray are keen to secure the services of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey.
According to Turkish outlet Takvim, Galatasaray have identified Arsenal star Thomas Partey as their top target to replace Tanguy Ndombele. With the Tottenham Hotspur man expected to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window, the Ghanaian is Galatasaray’s first choice candidate to take his place this winter.
Having failed to truly make the grade with Tottenham Hotspur, Ndombele is currently on loan at Galatasaray. However, this move has not been a success for the 26-year-old either and his time with the Super Lig outfit is set to be cut short.
His departure will leave Galatasaray short on options in the middle of the park. As such, they are keen to prise Partey away from the Emirates Stadium.
The 30-year-old has barely featured for the Gunners for this season. Injuries have restricted him to just five appearances across all competitions so far in the current campaign, and he hasn’t been seen in red and white since the north London club’s 1-0 win over Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

Should Arsenal sell Thomas Partey?
These injuries are a frequently recurring problem for Partey. Mikel Arteta can simply no longer rely upon the 47-cap Ghana international to be fit and available when needed. The time has now come for the Gunners to move on from the player due to these issues.
Arsenal are currently in the market for a new midfielder. Aston Villa ace Douglas Luiz has been named as Arteta’s “dream” target. However, the Gunners have a very limited budget at their disposal heading into January. As such, sales may well be necessary in order to fund any incoming deals that sporting director Edu may wish to do. Partey is a sellable asset who ought be moved on, assuming he would even pass a medical ahead of any move.
There is no denying that Partey is an elite level player. Since his £45 million arrival at the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2020, he has often been a shining light for the Gunners in the middle of the park.
Now, though, with Declan Rice at the club, and Jorginho providing able cover, Partey is not quite the integral figure he once was.
Time is also likely running out for Arsenal to fetch a decent fee for Partey, given his age and injury record. Now is the time to cash in.
