Sporting Lisbon reportedly have a major concern over Ousmane Diomande’s form, with the defender wanted by Arsenal.
The 20-year-old centre-back exploded onto the scene over the last 12 months, with Diomande going from a relative unknown to one of the most highly sought sought-after players in Europe.
With such a rise comes transfer interest, and Arsenal are one of the many clubs reportedly scouting Diomande, who is believed to have a release clause worth £70m.

However, according to Record, Sporting have a ‘concern’ over whether clubs will still be interested in Diomande come the summer, with the defender’s form dropping off a cliff in recent months.
Whilst lauded by Sporting manager Ruben Amorin as a ‘very talented’ defender, Diomande has failed to impress for both his club and at the Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast.
And for Arsenal, there could be a chance that the Gunners drop their interest in the defender if Diomande fails to return to his best form, with Sporting potentially hopeful of cashing in on the Ivorian.
Arsenal have to evaluate Ousmane Diomande interest ahead of the summer

Arsenal’s main goal this summer is quite easy, sign a world-class striker and add more quality parts to the squad that can help the Gunners compete for the Premier League title.
And centre-back could be a position where Arteta chooses to splash the cash, with Diomande a player who could be an excellent long-term addition for the Gunners.
However, the defender’s form is now starting to become a major concern, and Arsenal will have to do a full evaluation of Diomande’s profile before deciding to make a move for the Sporting star in the summer.
With such a high release clause, a move for Diomande might not be worth it regardless of whether the defender can turn his form around, yet the 20-year-old might just be who Arsenal are missing in their ranks.
