‘Complete’ player wants to join Arsenal this summer but there is one major problem

Arsenal fans are willing the club to make further moves in the transfer window despite adding six new stars already this summer.

Andrea Berta has been efficient in his first transfer window at the club and has already completed deals for the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Noni Madueke.

However, successive defeats with lacklustre performances have got some Arsenal fans calling for further investment in the side.

The Gunners need to focus on player sales before any more incomings can occur but one of their transfer targets has expressed his desire to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Jeremy Jacquet wants to join Arsenal this summer

Speaking on the latest episode of talkSPORT’s ‘Inside Gooners’ podcast, journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that transfer target Jeremy Jacquet wants to join Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal are interested in Jacquet as they fear that Jakub Kiwior will depart the club this summer, however, Jacobs believes that Rennes will price the Gunners out of a deal.

Jacobs stated: “Jacquet may be more one for the long term. He’s a France under 21 international and there is a possibility that Arsenal try and revisit this in the final days of the window.

“But what I can tell you is that Jacquet only signed a new deal at Rennes in May and is contracted until 2029. So the problem is not with the player.

“He would be keen on joining Arsenal now. It’s the fact that Rennes are the roadblock due to the fact that, that new deal was only signed in May.

“And that may mean that Arsenal don’t get it over the line this window and have to revisit it in a year’s time.”

Arsenal must prioritise attacking signings before Jeremy Jacquet

There is no doubt that Jacquet is a real talent and has been described as a ‘complete’ player as per Football365.

However, even if Kiwior does leave North London this summer, Arsenal already have sufficient cover in defensive areas. Riccardo Calafiori is a natural left-sided centre back and Cristhian Mosquera has been signed.

The Gunners are severely lacking creativity going forward and any money that becomes available following player sales must be spent on the forward line.

Arsenal view Eberechi Eze as a ‘game-changer’ and the England international is desperate to join the club from Crystal Palace.

Real Madrid have lowered their asking price for Rodrygo and even a loan move has been mooted for the talented Brazilian winger.

Options are there for Berta to make another attacking signing or two this window. Bolstering the defence can wait for another year, a Premier League title cannot.
