Arsenal are yet to really get going in the summer transfer window.
Illan Meslier is set to sign, but, it’s not easy to get excited about the idea of a new third-choice goalkeeper arriving at the Emirates.
Of course, there’s a bit of a hold-up across the entire market right now due to the ongoing World Cup, so we may not get so much motion in the coming days.
However, according to David Ornstein, there is one deal that is waiting to be done for Arsenal if they decide to pull the trigger.
👀 How much is Leandro Trossard worth to Arsenal? Should the Gunners be selling him at all?!
Christos Tzolis to Arsenal is there to be done
Ornstein spoke about Arsenal’s lack of activity so far.
The journalist noted that Arsenal are trying to build from a position of strength this summer, which isn’t an easy task.
However, he did state that Christos Tzolis has been identified as a player Arsenal could sign, and that deal is there to be done if the Gunners want him.
“Well, look, Arsenal are heading into this summer in a position of strength, and that’s a great place to be. They’re Premier League champions, they reach the Champions League final, their squad is in good shape. They do want to add to it.
“It’s harder when you get to such a high level, and I think they want to add real quality to what they’ve already got, and definitely that will come in the attacking third of the pitch.
“Clearly that left-sided attack is an area of great focus, and we’ve reported that Christos Tzolis at Club Bruges is a player that they’ve held some conversations about. It feels like that one’s there to be done if and when Arsenal want to do it.”
It has previously been reported that Tzolis could cost £35m, and at that price, the Gunners could well move soon.
Meslier is set to sign for Arsenal in the coming days, but don’t be shocked if Tzolis is the next one through the door after the Frenchman.
