Arsenal are set to accelerate their move for Eberechi Eze after completing a deal for Viktor Gyokeres.
The Gunners have addressed six positions of need this summer, and are now looking to add a left-sided attacker who can compete with Gabriel Martinelli and provide Martin Odegaard with some cover.
Eze has been identified as Andrea Berta’s top target to fill this role in Mikel Arteta’s squad, and the North Londoners are now expected to launch a concerted effort to land his services.
The Crystal Palace man has a £68 million release clause, although it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are willing to meet this price.

Eberechi Eze has told Crystal Palace he wants to join Arsenal
Eze enjoyed an exceptional 2024/25 season for Palace, netting 14 goals and registering 12 assists across all competitions.
This form has unsurprisingly sparked interest from a few clubs, with Arsenal leading the race for the player.
Arteta is ‘obsessed’ with the potential signing of Eze and is eager for Berta to make a move quickly before the season commences.
According to Football Transfers, the 27-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and has informed Palace that he wants to complete a switch to the Emirates before the window ends.
However, there has yet to be an agreement on the payment terms, with the South Londoners demanding the entire £68 million release clause be paid in full within two years.
Despite expressing his desire to leave, Eze remains on good terms with Palace and won’t force through a move.
That said, the player notifying the Eagles that he does want the move certainly piles the pressure on the Palace hierarchy and makes Arsenal’s chances of signing him significantly more likely.

Eberechi Eze’s statistics 2024/25
Eze is an extremely talented player who would add an injection of offensive flair into Arsenal’s team.
However, there are question marks over whether spending £68 million on a 27-year-old with no clear role in the team is smart business.
| Eberechi Eze’s Premier League Statistics 2024/25 | |
| Appearances | 34 |
| Goals | 8 |
| Assists | 8 |
| Shots per 90 | 3.48 |
| Expected Goals per 90 | 0.36 |
| Key Passes per 90 | 2.01 |
| Expected Assists per 90 | 0.22 |
| Successful Take-ons per 90 | 2.33 |
Exceptional at dribbling in central areas and getting shots off in and around the box, Eze would add attributes that the Gunners currently lack.
That said, the England international hasn’t displayed much creative passing, while his defensive capabilities have also been questioned.
Arsenal need to carefully assess their options before outlaying a significant sum on the player.
