Edu Gaspar could now reportedly struggle to sell Nuno Tavares after the Arsenal defender picked up an injury out on loan with Nottingham Forest.
The Portuguese fullback impressed under Nuno Espirito Santo and looked set to become a staple for the former Tottenham manager at Forest for the remainder of the season.
However, the on-loan Arsenal left-back picked up a knock in Forest’s 2-0 win against West Ham earlier in the month, with Tavares now expected to miss some weeks out through injury.
Arsenal could struggle to sell Nuno Tavares after Nottingham Forest injury blow

And according to journalist Charles Watts, Arsenal could now struggle to sell Tavares in the summer if the defender misses enough of the season, with the Gunners keen to make a decent profit on the fullback.
Forest do have an option to sign Tavares for a combined £14m in the summer, yet this latest update could see the Garlibaldi pass up on this clause if the defender is out injured for long enough.
Watts said on what Arsenal thinks about Tavares’ injury: “How they’re viewing his performances as a whole, there’s been a big shift in opinion going in the right direction, which can only be a good thing for Arsenal.
“He’s not going to be a long-term left-back option at Arsenal, so we want this loan spell to go well so Forest decides they’re going to sign him for good, and it was heading in that direction, so the fact he’s injured now and could be out for a few weeks would be a big blow to him and to Arsenal.”
Nottingham Forest could sign Nuno Tavares regardless of injury length

Having quickly become a favourite for Nuno at Forest, Tavares’ injury could not have come at a worse time for the 24-year-old is his quest to become a star in the Premier League.
Yet whilst fears from Arsenal that the defender might now find it hard to move on because of this update, there’s a real chance that Forest already have plans to sign Tavares permanently.
As we know, an agreement is in place already should Forest choose to sign Tavares, and with Nuno clearly a big fan of the defender, Arsenal might not have to worry just yet about offloading the fullback in the summer.
