The January transfer window for 2025 is nearing a close as plenty of deals look to be complete in the final few days.
Often touted as an awkward market to operate, due to it being mid-season for the Premier League, there has been quite a bit of business so far.
Arsenal have been one of the quieter sides, but there are efforts in place to attempt signing a forward before the market closes.
Meanwhile, a few exits could also be on the cards before confirmation is made on the squad for the rest of the campaign.
So with that said, here’s a look at everything you need to know about the January transfer deadline for 2025.

When is January transfer deadline day for 2025?
While many know it as the January transfer window, the more accurate name is the winter transfer window as it isn’t restricted purely to the first month of the year.
As is the case for 2025, with transfer deadline day set for Monday, February 3, 2025.
What time does the January transfer window close?
Clubs will have until 11pm (GMT) to complete their deals and register them with the appropriate parties to confirm a signing.
If the move is going close to the wire, then teams can request an extension which gives them a short span to get it over the line.
What is a transfer deal sheet?
In order to complete a valid request for a transfer, an appropriate amount of paperwork will have to be confirmed first with what is known as a transfer deal sheet.
This sheet cannot be used before 9pm on deadline day, but must be submitted by the 11pm deadline to trigger an extension on the time.
That will give clubs an extra two hours to get the appropriate details sorted, meaning some deals can drag on until 1am the following morning.

When do other leagues have their January transfer deadline day?
Each league can have different opening and closing dates for the January transfer window, which can see players leave after a deadline is met but not signed after.
The following major leagues close soon:
| League | Date |
| Saudi Arabia | 31/1/2025 |
| Germany | 3/2/2025 |
| Italy | 3/2/2025 |
| Spain | 3/2/2025 |
| France | 3/2/2025 |
| Scotland | 3/2/2025 |
| Portugal | 4/2/2025 |
| Netherlands | 5/2/2025 |
| Turkey | 11/2/2025 |
| Brazil | 28/2/2025 |
That variation in closing dates could make for some interesting domino effects across football.
