Arsenal star Jakub Kiwior is now showing a desire to join AC Milan during the January transfer window amid the Serie A side holding talks with the Emirates Stadium outfit.

The 23-year-old has only gained a bit-part role in north London so far this season. Manager Mikel Arteta has afforded Kiwior just 12 appearances across their 25 fixtures to date. He has even only started in six games, despite being a part of the Arsenal matchday squad for each.

Now, Calciomercato reports that Kiwior is showing a desire to quit Arsenal for AC Milan over the January transfer window. The Rossoneri have marked the centre-back as the ideal target for a mid-season deal, as well. His profile perfectly suits what Stefano Pioli wants at San Siro.

Jakub Kiwior has shown a desire to leave Arsenal for AC Milan

AC Milan have already opened talks with Arsenal in their attempt to lure Kiwior back to Italy within a year of his exit. Spezia only sold the Poland international to the Gunners in January 2023 for an initial £17.5m. Future add-ons can take his switch to Emirates Stadium to £20m.

Arsenal would want to make a small profit on their investment to let Kiwior return to Serie A already. The north London team believe he is now worth, at least, €25m (£21.5m). But some at the club question if Kiwior should be allowed to move in January rather than the summer.

The Rossoneri, though, are on a mission to make Kiwior an AC Milan player next month. San Siro chiefs are also exploring every option they can to conclude a deal after Arsenal opposed their desired initial loan move. AC Milan will continue the negotiations in the coming weeks.

Mikel Arteta will not block Jakub Kiwior from a January transfer

AC Milan are moving with intent to sign Kiwior from Arsenal as boss Pioli responds to Malick Thiaw’s hamstring injury. Gazzetta dello Sport also reported recently that the Rossoneri feel Gunners coach Arteta will not block a deal if the 19-cap international pushes for the transfer.

The fact that Kiwior, who Robert Lewandowski has called ‘extraordinary’,  joined Arsenal last January also convinces AC Milan that he could settle quickly at San Siro. So, they launched talks with the Gunners over a loan with an option to buy but are prepared to pay if required.
