Even though everyone’s focus is on the World Cup, Arsenal are working very hard on transfers for next season.
The Gunners know very well that they can’t just stand still after winning the Premier League title. They need to strengthen their side to maintain or increase the gap to their rivals.
Several players have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium already, and there are a few exciting names.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared an update on a new name – Alex Scott.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Arsenal have begun talks with Bournemouth for Alex Scott
Scott had a tremendous season with Bournemouth in 2025/26.
The midfielder was always a good player, but Andoni Iraola turned him into one of the most impressive English midfielders in the Premier League.
That has led to a lot of interest in the Cherries star, and Romano has now backed other reports claiming that the Gunners have him on their shortlist.
What’s interesting, though, is that the journalist has claimed that Arsenal have contacted not just the player’s camp but also Bournemouth to speak about a potential deal.

Romano said in a video on his YouTube channel: “It’s an important one to mention, this one, for Alex Scott. He remains a player in the shortlist at Arsenal.
“One of the players they appreciate, as reported today by The Athletic, and it is true. The conversation is ongoing with the agents of the player and also with Bournemouth to understand if there is this possibility.
“Bournemouth are offering a new contract to the player. So let’s see what’s going to happen there because Bournemouth are really, really pushing for the player to stay with a release clause.
“But Arsenal are considering the player, he’s homegrown and very talented. So, he is one of the options in the list at Arsenal for their midfield.”
🤔 Which midfield target should Andrea Berta prioritise at Arsenal this summer?
Alex Scott will also cost crazy money
The prices of midfielders in today’s market are absurd.
A fee for Elliot Anderson is set to exceed £120 million, while the asking price for Sandro Tonali is also said to be £100 million.
Bournemouth, who have always been great sellers, are once again set to demand a fortune for their star players as well.
TalkSPORT claim that Scott is valued by the Cherries at a whopping £80 million this summer.
If Arsenal pay such a high fee for his signature, he will become the club’s second-most expensive player of all time, surpassing Nicolas Pepe.
