Fabrizio Romano has said Arsenal have scouted Viktor Gyokeres ‘multiple times’ this season amid growing interest in the striker.
The Sporting Lisbon superstar has been one of the most prolific forwards in Europe this campaign with Gyokeres already breaking the 30-goal barrier since moving from Coventry City.
As a result, the Swedish international’s form has attracted interest from the Premier League, with Arsenal one of the reported clubs keeping tabs on Gyokeres heading into the summer.
Arsenal have watched Viktor Gyokeres ‘multiple times’ this season

And speaking to CaughtOffside, transfer guru Romano has now said Arsenal have scouted Gyokeres on more than one occasion, with the race for the 25-year-old beginning to heat up.
Indeed, Arsenal’s hunt for a top class striker is beginning to heat up, and the search could now lead the Gunners to Lisbon, where Gyokeres could be a option for Mikel Arteta.
Romano said: “Although there are many clubs that are attentive to Viktor Gyokeres at the moment, none have made a move as yet, nothing is happening now. It’s one for the summer.
“His conditions are that he has a €100m (£80m) release clause then we will see what happens in the summer, but we know how difficult is to negotiate with Portuguese clubs. Many clubs have also sent their scouts to watch him, Arsenal for sure multiple times, but also others are closely monitoring the situation.”
Arsenal could be serious about signing £80m superstar

Arsenal’s reported interest in Gyokeres has grown in recent days, with the Swedish international becoming more entangled in the north London side’s plans for the summer
And this latest update strongly suggests that Gyokeres could now be a real target for Arsenal, with the forward causing waves in Portugal at Sporting.
Whilst Arsenal might have to be cautious about signing Gyokeres, it’s clear that the club are big fans of the striker, and the next few weeks will be interesting ones in their quest to sign a top attacker.
