It is no secret at this point that Arsenal are interested in signing Morgan Rogers.
The Gunners are looking for reinforcements in attack, and everyone knows just how much Mikel Arteta loves versatile players.
Rogers, who can play anywhere in the frontline, would be a fantastic signing for the Premier League champions, and they aren’t holding back with their desire to sign him.
Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on the situation.
Morgan Rogers to Arsenal – yes or no? Tell us why in one sentence!
Arsenal have made ‘direct contact’ with Morgan Rogers’ agents
Morgan Rogers is an incredible talent.
The 23-year-old has been fantastic for Aston Villa since he joined them, and he had a stunning individual campaign in the recently concluded season.
Rogers directly contributed to 26 goals in all competitions last season, 17 of which came in the Premier League.
That must have caught Arteta’s eye, which is why Arsenal, along with a number of other top clubs, are keen to sign him this summer.
Romano has now revealed that talks between the Gunners and Rogers’ agents have already taken place.

He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “For Aston Villa, it will be very difficult to keep Morgan Rogers. They extended his contract; well, he signed a new deal a few months ago.
“But at the same time, Aston Villa understand that there are going to be plenty of clubs interested in Morgan Rogers.
“As we said, the wingers market is very aggressive, very active over the recent weeks, and Morgan Rogers is going to be part of that. So, I expect several clubs to be at the table for Morgan Rogers.
“For sure, Arsenal, because they are one of the clubs interested in Morgan Rogers. And from what I understand, they already had some direct contacts with the agents of Morgan Rogers.
“So for sure, for Arsenal, he’s a player on the list, but Arsenal are not alone in this race for Morgan Rogers. And also, I think Arsenal have to decide who is their favourite target among many wingers they are considering during this summer transfer window.”

Morgan Rogers offers a different profile to Arsenal
Romano’s comments above suggest that Arsenal are viewing Rogers as a left-winger, even though he is naturally a number 10.
That is very interesting because the Gunners’ current wingers – Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli – are very different to the Aston Villa man.
Rogers is a powerful runner, a great dribbler and possesses the ability to score several different types of goals from different angles and distances.
That will definitely elevate Arsenal, but whether the Gunners would be willing to meet Aston Villa’s demands is anyone’s guess.
