Now, Fabrizio Romano has shared an insight into the situation, and he has revealed what the Galacticos think about the Arsenal defender.

He said in a video on his YouTube channel: “There is no doubt that people internally at Real Madrid see William Saliba as a superstar, a fantastic defender. At Real Madrid, they obviously – I would say this is one of the best defenders in the world – they really appreciate Saliba.

“It’s also important to say that someone internally at Real Madrid considers Saliba as the Bellingham of the defenders.

“A top player for the present but also the future. A player who can be perfect to build the future.”

Arsenal’s stance on selling Saliba to Real Madrid

Real Madrid’s interest in Saliba is not a surprise at all.

The Spanish giants always have an eye on the best players in the world, and the Arsenal defender falls into that bracket alongside players like Kylian Mbappe and Bellingham.

The Gunners, however, have no interest in letting Saliba go.

Romano revealed in the same video that ‘Arsenal are absolutely insisting on their plan to continue with Saliba’ beyond the end of this season.

The journalist also claimed that Arteta’s side will make it very difficult for Real Madrid if they come in for the French defender this summer.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal will demand £100 million for Saliba. That would make him the most expensive defender of all time if a deal goes through.
