The agent of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has now claimed that the player will stay at the club, following fresh transfer links in recent days.
Jorginho was linked with Fenerbahce again in the last two days, with the Turkish transfer window still open, after previously being touted for a move there earlier in the summer window.
The 31-year-old is not a starter, with Declan Rice and Thomas Partey ahead of him in the pecking order, but he has appeared off the bench in the last two games, and with Partey currently injured, he can expect to play an important role under Mikel Arteta.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos confirmed that the Italian will remain in North London.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
“Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, therefore on the Premier League championship and the Champions League. He will not go to Fenerbahce,” he stated.
Jorginho’s important role
Jorginho was already set to play a crucial role in the squad despite not being a starter, and Partey’s injury has meant that he is untransferrable right now.

The Italy star is one of the best passers of the ball in the whole squad, and he brings a wealth of experience, leadership and composure to the team.

His ability to dictate the tempo of the game from a deep midfield position is unparalleled in the squad, despite Rice and Partey’s superior physicality, and he is a crucial substitute for Arteta to help close out victories and bring more calmness to the side.
Jorginho showed his class in an away victory at Newcastle last season. In a game that may have been considered too physical for him, he was the player of the match as his outstanding ability on the ball, as well as his composure, helped Arsenal win a difficult away fixture.
The Champions League and European Championship winner is too useful to sell right now, particularly with the transfer window for incoming players closed, and a sale to Fenerbahce should not even be considered by the club right now.
