As part of a deal to sell Folarin Balogun to AS Monaco back in 2023, Arsenal agreed to a sell-on clause, which could soon come in very useful.

The former Arsenal academy star enjoyed a superb start to the World Cup by netting a brace in the United States’ 4-1 win over Paraguay.

Balogun was very highly rated during his time at Hale End academy; however, Mikel Arteta struggled to give him chances in the team, and he ended up pushing to leave.

Now, depending on how the rest of his games go, the striker could earn another transfer this summer, which could prove rather lucrative for the Gunners.

Arsenal have a sell-on clause for Folarin Balogun

Arsenal have a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause for Folarin Balogun should AS Monaco let him leave, according to Sun Sport.

During the £34.6 million deal, which saw him depart the Emirates Stadium during the summer of 2023, the Gunners also inserted a sell-on clause into the deal.

The 24-year-old has just enjoyed a prolific season in France, netting 19 goals and is now showcasing his talent in front of goal on the world stage.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team perfectly started their home tournament by thrashing Paraguay 4-1, and Balogun was the star of the show.

Given how many teams will be looking for a striker this summer, Balogun could soon earn himself another big transfer this summer.

The USA have games against Australia and Turkey in which the Monaco striker will fancy himself to add to his goal tally.

Several Premier League clubs could be on his trail this summer and look to bring him back to England after three great seasons in France.

Arsenal are looking to sell players this summer to help fund incoming signings, but Monaco allowing Balogun to leave could be a nice bonus for them.

Folarin Balogun’s incredible record for Arsenal’s academy

As mentioned, Balogun was so highly rated during his time in North London, given how prolific he was in front of goal.

He managed 78 goals in 107 appearances for the academy teams; however, the former Arsenal academy man made just ten appearances in total for the first team.

Balogun made a handful of appearances in the Europa League and Carabao Cup, which eventually led to him looking to leave the club.

Arsenal have already earned over £34 million from his transfer and could now profit even more from their ex-academy man.
