Oleksandr Zinchenko was probably a very frustrated figure on the Arsenal bench during the Gunners’ 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend.
Given he was fit, Jurrien Timber understandably lined up at left-back for Arsenal, after all, Zinchenko has a horrible record against Mohamed Salah.
There’s no embarrassment for the Ukraine international to be behind Timber, however, once the Dutchman came off, Zinchenko may then have been incredibly frustrated.
Mikel Arteta snubbed Zinchenko and chose to bring on Myles Lewis-Skelly instead, an 18-year-old with so much potential but one that is still relatively inexperienced.
Since, Ian Wright has called for Lewis-Skelly to play more often – another reason to believe that Zinchenko’s days at Arsenal could be numbered.
Arsenal only likely to sell one of Jakub Kiwior or Oleksandr Zincheko in January
That being said, according to Arsenal Insider sources, there is a possibility that the club would accept the right offer for Zinchenko in January.
The left-back was available in the summer, however, a suitable offer didn’t arrive.

Arsenal could be prepared to lose Zinchenko midway through the season, and in that respect, Jakub Kiwior’s future plays a significant role in any decision too.
It’s understood that Kiwior wants to leave Arsenal, but it’s unlikely that both would leave the club in January.
Arsenal would seemingly prefer to let Zinchenko go out of the two, perhaps given that Kiwior is more versatile across the back line.
Lewis-Skelly has barely put a foot wrong in an Arsenal shirt thus far, and it’s hard to argue against Arteta’s decision to opt for the youngster.
Myles Lewis-Skelly ready for bigger role at Arsenal
Along with Ethan Nwaneri, Arsenal fans will hope that Lewis-Skelly’s name is one that they’ll be hearing at the Emirates Stadium for many years to come.
But in reality, it’s hard to imagine that either Kiwior or Zinchenko will still be an Arsenal player at the start of next season.
Perhaps Arteta and Edu would need to sign a new left-sided centre-back were both to leave, but that perhaps explains Arsenal’s interest in Vitor Reis.
Although Arsenal’s squad is a lot stronger than it was this time last year, there’s still plenty of tinkering to be done in the future.
And perhaps some progress could even be made in January.
