Andrea Berta is looking to add to Arsenal’s attack this summer, and the Argentine striker is one of the names on his list of targets.

Arsenal can only sign Julian Alvarez if one of Viktor Gyokeres or Kai Havertz leaves. Who would you sell?

Alvarez is one of the most highly sought-after attackers in Europe right now, with FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain also keen to sign him.

Atletico Madrid are ready to put up a strong fight to keep the 26-year-old this summer, with a deal expected to be very expensive.

Arsenal think they can afford £130m to sign Julian Alvarez

Arsenal are ready to start talks to sign Julian Alvarez, having admired him for quite some time, according to AS.

The Gunners believe they have the financial power to pay the £130 million which it could take to bring him to the Emirates Stadium.

PSG are also in the race for the 26-year-old and would be in the same boat in terms of being willing to commit a substantial financial outlay.

Barcelona have already started talks to sign Alvarez, but Atletico are making it very clear that the striker is not for sale this summer.

The Spanish club have even pointed to his £432 million release clause and are adamant that there will be no bidding war over the attacker.

But perhaps as the transfer window goes on, and the former Man City striker becomes more intent on leaving, Atletico could be forced to listen to offers.

Now that you’ve all had time to reflect, why did Arsenal lose the Champions League final?

Berta is understood to be a huge fan of Alvarez, having been the man who brought him to the Metropolitano in the first place.

Now, the Italian director is making another bid to sign him, but at this stage, his former club are making it very tricky to let the attacker leave.
