Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun is currently training alone.
As reported by The Mirror, Folarin Balogun trained alone on Monday, away from his Arsenal teammates. This decision from Mikel Arteta to remove Balogun from the main group comes amidst transfer speculation surrounding the forward.
This latest development may be evidence that Balogun is closer than ever to securing an Arsenal exit this summer. Inter Milan have been credited with interest. However, plenty of clubs will be keeping tabs on the USA international’s availability, following his exploits on loan last season.
During a stint with Reims last time out, Balogun netted 21 times in Ligue 1 and took his game to a whole new level. He always faced a tough task in forcing his way into Arteta’s plans though, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah ahead of him in the pecking order. Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Martinelli and new boy Kai Havertz are all also potential options to lead the line for the Gunners.

Arsenal ready to cash in on Balogun
Balogun has been clear that he wants to carry on playing regularly. The 22-year-old hasn’t even had much of a run out in pre-season so far. The New York-born attacker didn’t make it onto the pitch when Arsenal faced Manchester United in New Jersey on Saturday evening.

Arsenal have spent big this summer. Balogun is one of the few players in the squad that could fetch a good price without being a key figure in Arteta’s plans. For that reason, the north London club look ready to cash in. That outcome appears all the more likely now that it has emerged that Balogun is training alone.
If the twice-capped USA international is moved on from the Emirates Stadium this summer, then fans will hope that the Gunners insure themselves with a buy-back option or sell-on clause, in case Balogun develops into one of the game’s finest goalscorers.
