Mikel Arteta has had to let quite a few players leave Arsenal over the years.
The Gunners boss has completely transformed the club since his arrival in 2019, and Bukayo Saka and Reiss Nelson are the only survivors from the Unai Emery era.
A few players Arteta allowed to leave were signed by Arsene Wenger when he was at the club nearly a decade ago.
One of them has had a torrid time since leaving Arsenal, and Stan Kroenke could now help revive his career.

Rob Holding could join Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke’s MLS club
Rob Holding joined Arsenal from Bolton Wanderers in the summer of 2016.
Nobody had really heard about the defender at the time, but Wenger saw something really special in the teenager back then.
Holding was very impressive early on in his Arsenal career, and many felt that he would become a star at the club for many years.
However, after a serious injury against Chelsea, Holding failed to reach his previous heights, and he was sold by Arsenal to Crystal Palace in January 2023.
Holding, who was hailed as ‘incredible’ by Arteta, has played just one game for the Eagles over the last two-and-a-half years, and it is looking likely that he will be sold in this window.
Sky Sports have now revealed that, along with Sheffield United, where he spent the second half of last season on loan, MLS side Colorado Rapids are interested in signing Holding.
For those who don’t know, the Rapids are owned by the Kroenkes, who are also the owners of Arsenal.
MLS move should appeal to Rob Holding
Holding is still only 29, and this is not typically the age at which a player from a Premier League club moves to America.
However, the Englishman has barely played over the last two-and-a-half years, which is not great at all, as he is still a very capable defender.
If Holding does move to the Colorado Rapids, we think he will be a guaranteed starter as long as he stays fit. He can become a very important player for them, and his experience will help the squad massively.
It remains to be seen what Holding will do, but we think a move to America would be great for him.
