Arsenal and Juventus are keeping a close eye on Slavia Prague’s teenage sensation Abdallah Sima, according to Calcio Mercato.

The teenager has had a fantastic season in the Czech Republic, scoring 13 goals in 13 starts so far. Sima is one of Slavia’s finest young talents, and their manager, Jaroslav Tvrdík, has boldly slapped a £45 million price tag on his head.

Sima, still only 19, is definitely one to keep an eye on. Liverpool star Sadio Mane is reportedly his idol, but people associated with his club have called him the ‘new Thierry Henry’.

That is extraordinary praise for some so young. Sima, like Mane and Henry, can play anywhere across the front three. He has mainly featured on the right flank this term, but many feel that he is more suited to a number nine role.

The report claims that representatives from Arsenal and Juventus have tracked his progress from afar and have been very impressed.

The scouts are planning on watching him live in the coming weeks before they submit their report to their respective clubs.

Arsenal Insider’s view:

Arsenal had a fantastic network of scouts with connections across the globe. However, a whole bunch of them were shown the door earlier this summer as Edu and co decided to focus on analytics and recommendations of familiar agents.

Sima is not represented by a top agent which should mean that he popped up on our in-house player database – StatDNA. 13 goals in as many starts combined with his versatility of playing anywhere across the front three ticks a lot of boxes and that could be why we are keen.

Folarin Balogun’s future is still up in the air and it is a serious possibility that he could leave for nothing in the summer. Sima would be a good option to replace him, but Slavia Prague can forget about getting anything near £45 million for him.
