The agent of Arsenal star Jorginho has confirmed that the midfielder will stay at the Emirates this summer despite interest from a number of clubs in Europe.
The 31-year-old only joined from Chelsea in January, but has quickly become a popular player in North London. However, the arrival of Declan Rice has pushed him further down the pecking order, and rumours surfaced of a potential move to Fenerbahce.
His agent has now downplayed these rumours, claiming that the Italy star is happy under Mikel Arteta and will stay at the club this summer.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Joao Santos confirmed that Jorginho will remain an Arsenal player.

“I’m sure, Jorginho will stay at Arsenal. He’s happy in England. Let’s move on,” he stated.
“I had some calls from Saudi Arabia, and also Spanish clubs like him, but he’s staying at Arsenal, it’s decided.”

Arsenal now possess incredible depth in the defensive midfield position with Rice, Thomas Partey and Jorginho, but there will still be plenty of use for the former Chelsea star.
He particularly impressed with his passing ability in pre-season, and at times Arteta moved Partey to an inverted fullback role to accommodate him in the side.
The departure of Granit Xhaka, one of Arsenal’s most experienced players, means that a proven leader like Jorginho, who has Champions League and European Championship titles to his name, will be vital off the pitch with this fairly young Arsenal squad.
Although there is interest in him, Arsenal should resist any temptation to sell the midfielder, as over the course of the season, he will be very useful as a starter, substitute or reserve.
As an ideal squad player right now, Jorginho would be difficult to replace in terms of both his quality and experience, and when Arsenal face tough opponents, he could even be thrown into the action.
He was the best player on the pitch as Arsenal won away at Newcastle in one of their most impressive displays of last season, bringing composure in an otherwise frantic game, and his calmness alone makes him a useful asset.
