It has been a while since we heard Jose Mourinho and Arsenal in the same sentence.
The Special One had many a battle with the Gunners during his time in the Premier League, and he often came out on top as well, especially when Arsene Wenger was at the helm.
Now, Mourinho is said to be heading back to Real Madrid for another stint as their manager, and he already has a few targets in mind.
One of them is Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli.
Is Gabriel Martinelli the best Brazilian in the Premier League right now? If not, who is?
Jose Mourinho wants to sign Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli for Real Madrid
Martinelli has found himself in a weird position at Arsenal.
When the Brazilian first emerged under Unai Emery, he was viewed as a superstar in the making. Even Jurgen Klopp called him the talent of the century.
However, in recent seasons, Martinelli has failed to fulfil his potential, and with just over two years left on his contract, he could be on the move.
Out of all the links that have emerged, the most surprising one has come out from El Nacional in Spain.

The outlet reveals that Mourinho has added Martinelli to his shortlist for when he returns to Real Madrid as their new manager.
Michael Olise and Kenan Yildiz are ahead of the Arsenal number 11 in the pecking order, but Martinelli is the easiest to land.
The report claims that Mikel Arteta does not view the Brazil international as an essential player anymore and could be open to a move this summer.
It remains to be seen how much Arsenal will demand if Real Madrid come calling for Martinelli this summer.

Jose Mourinho could finally do Arsenal a favour
Mourinho has caused Arsenal a lot of pain over the years.
His battles with Wenger will go down in history as one of the greatest ever, but he’ll proudly say that he had the last laugh.
Now, after years of misery for Arsenal fans, Mourinho could finally do them a favour by taking Martinelli off the Gunners’ hands.
To be fair to the Brazilian, we think he would thrive under Mourinho in his counter-attacking system and become a star in Spain.
That is why this would be the right move for all parties should it happen.
