Arsenal have a lot of business to do before the transfer window shuts on Friday in terms of outgoings, but it is still unclear whether they will bring anyone else in.
Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar have brought in David Raya, Jurrien Timber, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice for an outlay of over £200m, with few sales to help boost that budget.
Timber has since picked up a long-term injury, whilst Havertz has been far from convincing in his opening three Premier League games. With Kieran Tierney also departing on loan, Arsenal may perhaps need to recruit another defender this week.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs has now revealed that the Arsenal hierarchy are confident in the squad at the moment, and will not be forced into a panic buy this week.
Why Pele Is Overrated.
“There still may be some ability for Arsenal to bring in depth, but Mikel Arteta and Edu were really clear that Arsenal believe that they’ve got the momentum and the chemistry,” he stated on CaughtOffsideTV.
“Even though they wobbled last season, even though they dropped two points against 10-man Fulham at the weekend, as a consequence, there’ll be no panic buying from Arsenal’s point of view.”

Do Arsenal need further additions?
If Arsenal manage to complete their desired outgoings, with the likes of Rob Holding and Nicolas Pepe on the chopping block, then another defender could be ideal.
Arsenal’s defensive depth is currently weaker than what it was last season. Tierney’s departure and Timber’s injury means that there are currently six first-team defenders for the four positions, whilst Thomas Partey is now also capable of filling in at right-back.

If Arsenal had kept Tierney, then perhaps they may have been well stocked enough for the season, but given how injury-prone Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko are, another versatile option like Timber should be considered.
However, Arsenal should only sign a player they believe is good enough to start for the club, rather than another squad filler in the mould of Cedric Soares or Holding. It remains to be seen whether this can be found in the coming days, but the club appear confident in the depth and quality of the squad for this season.
