Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to sell Emile Smith Rowe in order to fund a move to sign Ivan Toney in the January transfer window.

The Gunners are expected to be active on the market next month. We could do with an addition or two, and many feel a new striker will help us win the Premier League title. Campbell believes Toney can be that guy.

Kevin Campbell tells Arsenal to sell Emile Smith Rowe and sign Ivan Toney

Emile Smith Rowe is a fan favourite at Arsenal – everybody loves him.

The 23-year-old has had a torrid time with injuries over the last 18 months. He didn’t start a single game for the first team last season and has managed just two this time around.

With Kai Havertz suspended, Smith Rowe could start against West Ham United tonight. We hope he has a big impact, but Kevin Campbell has urged Arsenal to get rid of him.

The pundit believes making the ‘ruthless’ decision to sell the £60 million-rated midfielder will help Arsenal raise money to sign Ivan Toney next month.

He said on talkSPORT today: “There are some tradeable pieces. You don’t want to see the Smith Rowes leave the club, a young player coming through the ranks, but if you are going for a title you have to be ruthless.

“If you can move and shake a couple of players and then create an opportunity to get someone like [Ivan] Toney that’s what you have got to do.”

Mikel Arteta should keep Smith Rowe

Emile Smith Rowe is one of the most talented players England has produced over the last decade.

He was one of the first names on the team sheet before his injuries 18 months ago, and people seem to have forgotten how well he played for us during our difficult times.

Yes, there are players ahead of Smith Rowe in the pecking order now, but the 23-year-old is Arsenal through and through, and if he can remain fit, we’re convinced he has what it takes become a superstar in the famous red and white.

Unless an absolutely outrageous offer comes in next month, we think Mikel Arteta should keep Smith Rowe at Arsenal and give him more opportunities.
