Arsenal want to sign Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga.
Arsenal are working on a deal to sign the 16-year-old winger following Leicester’s shock relegation to League One.
It’s being reported that Monga has already agreed terms to join the Gunners, and some have even stated that the transfer is on the verge of being completed.
Which Morgan do you want at Arsenal and WHY – Gibbs-White or Rogers?
However, Leicestershire Live journalist Josh Holland has now cleared up some misinformation that’s being spread about the transfer.

Arsenal will have to pay a fee to sign Jeremy Monga
Given that Monga is yet to sign a professional contract with Leicester, it has been reported that Arsenal can sign him for a relatively low compensation fee.
On that basis, it can be argued that even if Arsenal don’t agree on terms, they can still sign Monga while the PFCC determines the final payment due to Leicester.
However, Holland, who is on the beat with all things Leicester, understands that Monga’s scholarship is due to automatically turn into a professional deal when he celebrates his 17th birthday on the 10th of July.
💰 Fill in the blank: Real Madrid MUST pay £__m to sign Riccardo Calafiori from Arsenal this summer…
That means Leicester have the negotiating power to demand a much larger transfer fee, or even decide against sanctioning his sale.
Writing on X, Holland stated: “Jeremy Monga to Arsenal is gathering pace but there is some ‘grey’ area around the finances involved.
“The teenager’s first professional contract is scheduled to commence on 17th birthday (July 10).
“As far as I’m aware, Arsenal will likely need to pay a fee for Monga due to the scheduled pro deal already signed at Leicester City. Finer details make this one to watch across next month.”
So, it seems Arsenal still have a lot of work left to do to complete the signing of Monga this summer.
