Former Everton midfielder Leon Osman believes that Arsenal target Pedro Neto is likely to be on the move in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal are keen to sign Wolves winger Pedro Neto in the winter transfer window, with Mikel Arteta having admired the player for some time.
However, the Gunners may well face competition for his signature if they do launch a move for the 23-year-old, as per Metro.
It is easy to see why Arteta rates Neto so highly. The four-cap Portugal international has pace, flair, and an excellent technical level. He has also been in fine form so far this season. In his eight Premier League outings so far this season, Neto has scored once and racked up five assists. He also produced a brilliant performance to help Wolves earn a shock win against Manchester City.
As a left-footed right winger, Neto would also plug an existing gap in the Arsenal squad. The north London club are currently overly-reliant on Bukayo Saka being fit and available for every match. The arrival of Neto would ease the burden on the England star.

Neto nearing Wolves exit
Wolves won’t be keen to see Neto leave, but cashing in on him now may be their only viable means of raising transfer funds of their own to spend. Leon Osman certainly believes that his departure from Molineux is a distinct possibility.
Speaking to Premier League Productions (09/10/2023, 16:50), Osman said, “he [Neto] has looked terrific this season. If he can stay fit until January, then it shows teams that the injuries are behind him and he is potentially going to be scouted by one of those big clubs.”
Fitness concerns are currently the only real red flag Neto has by his name. The £50,000-a-week ace sustained a serious knee injury in April 2021 and has only recently looked to be getting back to his best.
Arteta will want to know that that setback is now entirely behind him before Arsenal enter the race for his services in earnest.
