The 24-year-old winger was linked with the Emirates Stadium last summer, the Northern Echo claiming Mikel Arteta had him high up on his wanted list.
Saint-Maximin obviously ended up staying put at St James’ Park, but he’s had a tough time with injury and illness this season, and is currently out with a groin injury.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are having a torrid season and are currently just two points clear of the relegation zone, having lost 3-0 at the hands of fellow strugglers Brighton last time out.
Saint-Maximin is a high-calibre player who boasts speed and trickery in abundance, is a nightmare for opposition defenders, and is a great passer of the ball.
