Arsenal have had many challenges in recent years with their academy.

The Gunners have been developing incredibly talented players at a very fast rate, but not everyone is sticking around waiting for a senior chance.

Chido Obi Martin and Ayden Heaven are two popular names who left Arsenal for Manchester City not too long ago.

Now, another player could head to Manchester, but to City.

Manchester City want Mishel Nduka after his Arsenal contract expired

Mishel Nduka joined Arsenal from Charlton Athletic in 2025.

The now 16-year-old is one of the most talented young players in England, and many in the game believe he is destined to be a star.

Nduka’s contract at Arsenal officially expired on Tuesday night, meaning he is available for a transfer to another club.

The Secret Scout has now revealed that Manchester City are looking to tempt Nduka to join them ahead of all his other suitors.

Arsenal, however, haven’t given up yet and have offered him improved terms. The hope is to keep him at the club in this window.

The Secret Scout tweeted: “Man City aiming to tempt 16-year-old Mishel Nduka from Arsenal.  The young midfielder’s contract ended today (June 30). City view as a perfect replacement if two midfielders leave them this summer.

“Arsenal have offered improved terms. Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham are aware of the situation, however currently interested in other targets.”

Who is Mishel Nduka and why are Arsenal desperate to keep him?

Nduka is a 16-year-old attacking midfielder who is currently a free agent.

The youngster is excellent on the ball, brilliant in tight spaces and has the ability to get past players with ease.

Scouting platform Future Ballers backed Nduka to become a future first-team star and even responded to comparisons to Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich.

They tweeted in 2025: “I don’t want to compare him directly to Musiala, but I can understand why those comparisons are being made.

“Both are extremely agile, move in a similar way, and are almost impossible to stop in tight spaces while being dominant in 1v1 situations. He creates space, draws defenders toward him, and can distribute the ball effectively thanks to his immense creativity, flair, passing quality and vision.

“Arsenal signed him from Charlton in September, and in my opinion, he has everything it takes to break into the first team in the future.”
