Arsenal are expected to add at least one new winger before the transfer window closes.
Andrea Berta has explored a number of options in recent months as the Gunners look to strengthen an attack that fell just short of delivering Champions League glory.
Several high-profile names have been linked, but one of the most surprising has suddenly re-emerged after an unsuccessful spell away from the Premier League.
Manchester United have now approached Arsenal to see if they would be interested in signing Marcus Rashford.
Imagine you are Andrea Berta. Who is your top target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window?
Manchester United have offered Marcus Rashford to Arsenal
Rashford’s future has become one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
The England international looked set to secure a permanent move away from Manchester United after spending time with Barcelona. However, that deal has now all but collapsed.
Barca had the opportunity to make Rashford’s move permanent for around £26 million, but they have decided against activating the clause.
That leaves Manchester United searching for another solution.
According to TeamTalk, the Red Devils have started offering Rashford to clubs as they attempt to move him on before the window closes.

Arsenal are one of the teams who have reportedly been contacted.
The report claims the Gunners have been informed of Rashford’s availability, although discussions are still at a very early stage and nothing advanced has taken place.
It is easy to understand why Arsenal would at least listen.
Rashford, hailed as ‘unstoppable’ by Erik ten Hag (ESPN), is a proven Premier League attacker, still only 28 years old and capable of producing moments that few players in England can match when he is at his best.
The question is whether that version of Rashford still appears often enough to justify a move.

Marcus Rashford is not the answer for Arsenal
There is no denying Rashford’s ability.
On his day, he is devastating. He can beat defenders, score spectacular goals and single-handedly win matches.
The problem is that Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta would not be signing the Rashford from his very best moments – they would be signing the player he is right now.
At his current level, it is difficult to argue that he represents a significant upgrade on Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard.
That is especially true when you consider the wages and transfer fee that would likely be involved.
If Arsenal could sign Rashford cheaply and on sensible wages as a squad option, there is an argument to be made. But if Manchester United are demanding a substantial fee and the attacker wants a major contract, the deal makes very little sense.
The Premier League champions need players who unquestionably raise the level of the squad, and Rashford does not currently fall into that category.
