Arsenal technical director Edu has gone from zero to hero in this transfer window. The Brazilian was heavily criticised for his role in bringing in the likes of Willian, Alex Runarsson and Cedric Soares to the club.
Many even called for his head during his dismal run earlier in the season, but it looks like Edu is back on Arsenal fans’ good side.
Our technical director has ripped up Mesut Ozil and Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ contracts. He shipped Sead Kolasinac on loan to Schalke and also William Saliba to Nice. That cleared a lot of space in the squad.

Edu also brought in Maty Ryan on loan until the end of the season and that is a really smart move. It looks like Martin Odegaard will put pen to paper any moment now as well, which makes this an excellent window for us.
However, it looks like Edu isn’t done just yet. Rumours have emerged today that Shkodran Mustafi wants to follow Ozil and Sokratis out of the club as well, and it all rests in our technical director’s hands.
Football London claim that the German’s agents are in talks with Arsenal to terminate his contract. Mustafi has played a little over 530 minutes of football so far this season – most of which have come in the Europa League.

He last featured on Boxing Day against Chelsea where he came on for the final minute of the game.
It is pretty clear now that Mustafi has no future at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta has enough cover at the back, and if the German wants to leave, it might be the best thing for all parties to send him on his way.
