Despite agreeing to sign Neto, Arsenal may not be done with their business between the sticks.

Goalkeepers are the top priority for Arsenal on this Transfer Deadline Day.

With Aaron Ramsdale due to join Southampton, Mikel Arteta is now desperate to bring in new back up for David Raya.

Arsenal have agreed to sign Neto. The Bournemouth shot-stopper will bring some welcome experience to the Emirates Stadium, and has proven himself in the Premier League.

The details of Neto’s deal with Arsenal have revealed that he will join the Gunners on a season-long loan deal, with the North London club covering his full salary. Arsenal will also hold an option to buy the 35-year-old, but face no obligation to make his switch permanent.

Despite having this deal in place, though, addressing the issue of needing to replace Ramsdale, the Gunners may not be finished there.

Arsenal targeting another goalkeeper signing after Neto

Sporting director Edu Gaspar is still on the lookout for potential deals Arsenal could strike to add more depth to the club’s goalkeeper department.

According to journalist James Olley, reporting on X: “Arsenal are closing in on the loan signing of Neto from Bournemouth.

“Been told they are open to signing another goalkeeper today if the right opportunity arises so one to keep an eye on as the day progresses.”

There are certainly other options for Arsenal to consider when it comes to potential goalkeeper signings.

Who Arsenal might sign to join Neto

On top of Neto, Arsenal have held talks for three other goalkeepers

Joan Garcia was Arsenal’s top target to replace Ramsdale. However, Espanyol will not let the 23-year-old shot-stopper go in a cut-price deal.

On top of that, the Gunners have made contact with Wolves to discuss potential deals for Jose Sa and Dan Bentley.

Arsenal made a low bid for Bentley earlier this summer, which was rejected by the Midlands outfit. However, the Gunners may be plotting to go back in for him before the window closes.

Alternatively, a new target may emerge in the final hours of the window. As moves elsewhere create domino effects that lead to unexpected opportunities, Arsenal will be ready to capitalise.
