Arsenal are being urged to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have a fantastic group of players. Mikel Arteta has built a tremendous squad, one that is capable of dominating any side.

However, many people feel that a prolific striker is what is stopping Arsenal from winning the Premier League and the Champions League right now.

Arsenal are expected to sign a new striker in one of the two windows in 2025, and one long-time target has once again been linked with a move to North London.

Mikel Arteta thinks Dusan Vlahovic is ‘perfect’ for Arsenal

Dusan Vlahovic has been a target for Arsenal for a long, long time.

The Serbian was Arteta’s number-one target to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he was banished from the squad a few years ago.

Vlahovic was still at Fiorentina then, and Arsenal pushed extremely hard to secure his services. However, he snubbed the Gunners and joined Juventus.

That hasn’t changed anything in terms of Arsenal’s admiration for him. Vlahovic has been on Arsenal’s radar again for a few months now, and he is a target for January.

CaughtOffside claim that Arteta thinks the Juventus star is the ‘perfect’ striker for Arsenal and is set to make a move for him in the winter window.

Juve would ideally like to keep hold of him, but Vlahovic will enter the final 18 months of his contract at the turn of the year. If they can’t get him to sign an extension, he will be sold.

The striker is said to be valued at €70 million (£58m), which is affordable, but Arsenal face competition from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City for his signature.

How Vlahovic performed against Manchester City

Manchester City are in a terrible run of form – they’ve won just one of their last 10 games in all competitions.

Their latest defeat came at the hands of Juventus in the Champions League. City dominated that game, but the Old Lady had the last laugh.

Vlahovic started for Juve and he was brilliant. The Serb worked tirelessly and deservedly scored a goal to give his side the lead.

That’s now two Arsenal targets who have proven their worth against Manchester City – Viktor Gyokeres destroyed Pep Guardiola’s side not too long ago.

It remains to be seen which one of the two, if either, Arteta will go for in the January transfer window.
