Brighton & Hove Albion will reportedly target a move for Reiss Nelson this summer, with Arsenal open to selling the 24-year-old winger.

The Hale End academy graduate is yet to make a Premier League start this season with Nelson seeing the majority of his minutes come from cup competitions and the UEFA Champions League.

Despite signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal last summer, Nelson is yet to make much of an impact under Mikel Arteta this season, with a sale later this year now looking likely.

And according to TalkSport, Brighton are interested in signing Nelson, a player Arsenal could sell ‘in excess of £25m’ as the Gunners look to make some major profit off their academy graduate.

Lauded by Ray Parlour as an ‘electric’ winger, the sale of Nelson for a figure close to £25m would be viewed by many Arsenal fans as a good piece of business this summer.

Indeed, the 24-year-old winger is clearly a beloved figure in north London who last season etched his name into Arsenal history with his last-second winner against AFC Bournemouth.

Yet for where Arsenal are and what they need to do in the summer, selling Nelson to help raise funds would be a wise decision, with the attacker himself also in need of a move where he can move his career forward.

At 24, Nelson is at a stage in his career where the attacker should be a regular in the Premier League, yet this is something that won’t be happening at Arsenal anytime soon.

The forward is clearly good enough to play at the highest level in the Premier League and beyond, and Brighton could be an ideal move for Nelson this summer.

The Seagulls are one of the best ran clubs in all of England, and under Roberto De Zerbi, Nelson could hit new heights whilst also potentially playing in Europe if Brighton can finish in the top-eight.
