Real Madrid have enquired about Gabriel Magalhaes transfer, Arsenal’s response was quick

Arsenal did not want to hear anything from Real Madrid regarding their transfer interest in defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

Gabriel has generated a lot of attention after the North London Derby, after his fall to the ground resulted in Tottenham having a second goal disallowed.

That’s not the only reason why the Brazilian is making the headlines, as Real Madrid have poked Arsenal to ask about the 28-year-old’s transfer status.

Real Madrid wanted to sign William Saliba in the summer transfer window, and now, they’ve turned their attention to Gabriel, but have quickly learned that the answer is the same.

Arsenal shut down Real Madrid’s transfer interest in Gabriel Magalhaes

It’s been reported by TEAMtalk that Real Madrid ‘made an enquiry’ about the possibility of signing Gabriel from Arsenal.

Fortunately, the Gunners issued an immediate response, informing the Spanish giants that there is ‘no chance’ that the transfer would happen.

No price will be enough to allow Real Madrid to sign Gabriel, as TEAMtalk understands that Arsenal are ‘determined’ to move away from having a status that gives the likes of Madrid the idea that they can ‘pick off’ their star players.

Why Real Madrid’s interest in signing Gabriel is unsurprising

Gone are the days when Arsenal were a stepping stone club; in fact, now, the Gunners have a defence that absolutely blows Real Madrid’s out of the water.

When looking at Real Madrid’s options in central defence, it’s abundantly clear why they’d want to sign Gabriel, who is regarded as the world’s best by some.

Imagine this: You can sign one of Gabriel Magalhaes or William Saliba to a lifetime Arsenal contract… Who are you picking?

It’s unclear whether Dean Huijsen has been a hit or miss; Eder Militao struggles to stay fit, Raul Asencio is not entirely convincing, and Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are entering veteran status.

Let’s also not forget that it was Real Madrid’s back line that conceded five goals against Arsenal last season in the Champions League.

Gabriel is not just Arsenal’s best defender, but he’s without a doubt one of the world’s best, making Real Madrid’s attraction to the Brazilian rather obvious even before enquiries were made.
