Record-breaking European wonderkid has now decided on future amid Arsenal interest

AC Milan wonderkid Francesco Camarda has reportedly decided on his future amid transfer interest from Arsenal.

The 15-year-old attacker made history this season after appearing for the Rossoneri in a Serie A match against Frosinone, becoming the youngest player ever to feature in a top-flight Italian fixture.

With Camarda set to turn 16 soon, the forward will be able to sign a professional contract with Milan, though some top European clubs are keeping tabs on the youngster, including Arsenal.

However, according to Pianeta Milan, Camarda’s preference is to sign a deal with his boyhood club Milan, with Arsenal set to miss out on the record-breaking wonderkid this year.

As per the report, the Gunners were one of many top side keeping tabs on Camarda, with Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund also tracking the Italian prodigy.

With Arsenal having one of the best youth set-ups in the Premier League, Camarda could have been perfect in north London under the watchful eyes of Mikel Arteta and academy director Per Mertesacker.

Indeed, Camarda could have been an incredible coup for Arsenal this year, yet given how young the forward is and how closely associated the youngster is with Milan, it makes sense why the Gunners missed out.

Arsenal can focus on other youth targets heading into the summer

Arsenal have done well in a post-Brexit world to add as many quality talents as possible into their academy ranks, with the Gunners already doing work heading into this year’s summer transfer window.

And whilst Camarda would have been an outstanding addition, it’s clear that Arsenal’s interest in the Italian was only going to go so far.

However, all is not lost for Arsenal, with the north London side still having time on their hands to get deals done and to recruit the best there is in the land for the growing Hale End academy.
