According to a report from Sport Bild, Arsenal are battling Tottenham and Southampton to sign Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka in the summer.
The Gunners got rid of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the January transfer window. David Luiz’s contract will end soon as well and there is a good chance he’ll be released in June.
That would leave Arsenal with Rob Holding, Gabriel Magalhaes, Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers as established first-team regulars. Dinos Mavropanos and William Saliba will return from loan but nobody knows if they will be ready for consistent action with the senior squad.

Arsenal might look to bring in a new centre-back and the report claims that we have been watching N’Dicka. The 6ft 4in giant centre-half has been catching everyone’s eye in the Bundesliga since the start of the 2018/19 season.
He’s still only 21 but he has racked up almost 100 senior appearances for Frankfurt and Auxxere already. N’Dicka is destined for a big move soon and Arsenal, if we are really interested, might have an edge over Spurs in the race.

The report claims that the defender’s advisor – Michael N’Cho Ibou – has an excellent relationship with people at Arsenal.

The Gunners beat a number of clubs to secure Nicolas Pepe’s signature in 2018. It is claimed that Ibou brokered that deal, and he might help us sign N’Dicka too if we’re really keen.
The French under-21 international will have just two years left on his contract in the summer. A number of clubs are expected to express an interest in him, and a move to England is always appealing.
However, a lot will depend on Saliba’s situation. If the youngster is deemed ready for the Premier League by Arteta next season, we will not need another central defender, and that will end any interest we reportedly have in N’Dicka.
