Arsenal face competition from Celtic for Brighton goalkeeper Mat Ryan, who is likely to be a free agent this summer.
Sky Sports News report that incoming Hoops manager Ange Postecoglou is keen to sign Ryan. The duo worked together for the Australian national team during the 2014 FIFA World Cup as well as the 2015 Asian Cup.
Ryan spent the second half of last season on loan with the Gunners where he made just three appearances. However, the 29-year-old keeper quickly became a fan favourite with supporters due to the fact he is a fan of the club. And when he did play, he impressed.

The Gunners are set for a summer that could see the goalkeeping area be completely changed.
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Ajax shot-stopper Andre Onana, whilst according to the Guardian, Bernd Leno could leave the club in the transfer window.

Even without European football to compete with next season, Ryan could still be a smart signing for Arsenal. The Australian number 1 impressed when given the chance to play last season. However, interest from Celtic complicates matters.
The appointment of Postecoglou could be an alluring proposition for Ryan, who performed well under the Australian manager during their time together for the national team. And with Celtic set for a huge rebuild this summer, the former Valencia keeper could be awarded a major role for the Hoops under his former coach.
Yet this doesn’t put Arsenal out of the race completely. Whilst Ryan would no doubt play more first-team football with Celtic than with the north London side, the prospect of continuing the Premier League will be a tempting one for the keeper, and playing for his boyhood club would be a dream for the 29-year-old shot-stopper.
